Thank you Sally! My hosts made the tea and then all the shots just happened, naturally, there in the smallish Fremantle flat. I have a larger series of images of the lady against the red kitchen/lounge wall, but will put it together for another time... x
From December 2009, so a couple of months back, from WA. I guess you could say I'm photographing continuously, it has become a way of observing things which interest me. Framing, selecting, documenting, contemplating. I especially like human faces and would like to do more portraiture. I also find that photography, thinking in pictures, helps in the threedimensional composition and planning that is needed for jewellery work.
And - you're pretty productive yourself! All the books and travel ... : )

This blog is my attempt to document, preserve and reflect on the ordinary and the breathtaking in each day. It began as a diary based on my walking practise around Brunswick West in 2009, and continues (together with walking: we're still here) as a place to occasionally publish my 2D and 3D works.
I am Inari, a migrant from Finland and a multidisciplinary artist & designer. I live and work in Melbourne, Australia, translating my native relationship with wilderness and changing seasons into objects, images and words inspired by light, clouds and atmospheres in urban environments. Often experimenting with non–precious, industrial materials such as concrete and steel, the core of my practice is revealing beauty within ordinary, everyday things.
I love the bottom one of the woman against the red wall. Very striking. How many cups of tea did you have to make to get these shots? ;-)

Are you continually taking photographs or are these from a while back? I am amazed at how prolific you are! x
